Our StoryGigPark was founded in 2007 by
Pema Hegan and
Noah Godfrey. In their words, here's how and why GigPark started ...
Over the past several years, we
(Noah, Pema and our wives) have gone through a lot of big life changes. Moving to a different city, getting married, buying and building houses, starting a business and having a baby.
We needed to hire a lot of new service providers:
lawyers,
accountants,
real estate agents,
interior designers,
architects,
contractors,
doulas,
night nurses,
baby photographers,
personal trainers,
dentists,
wedding planners... and so on.
Finding the good ones wasn't always easy. We found the best people by calling our friends and asking for recommendations. And as our friends went through the same life changes, they began calling us more and more.
We realized that friends recommend the best people, but thought there had to be an easier way for friends to share these recommendations. So we did something about it and started GigPark.
We're using GigPark to find better service and help our friends. We hope you get just as much out of it!
Our Parent CompanyIn August 2009 GigPark was purchased by Canpages, the fastest growing local search and directories publisher in Canada. On its way to becoming the market leader in local online search, Canpages' website, gets more than 3.5 million unique visitors per month and is a pretty awesome place to find local businesses.
